I am going to suggest something unusual but then again I have never been known for the norm. I might end up running for Congress in the 3rd Congressional District in Arkansas. But I need your help if I am to do this in the first place.
In 2005 and into 2006, I mounted a bid for Lt. Governor. In my campaign I talked about an Education Lottery, the need to abolish the Death Penalty, the need to pass Meghan's Law to protect against predators; Raise the Minimum Wage, and the need to pass a comprehensive Collective Bargaining legislation to reverse the effects of Right to Work in our state. In the end, I didn't file, because I had mainly self-filed. I swore then, I would not make another major race, unless I had adequate funds to compete. Recently, my brother considered a bid. But my brother is in Iraq and conceivably it could be June before he's home. While he hasn't made a firm decision one way or the other, I believe he may not run.
I believe we need to be out of Iraq. I believe we need to move to an alternative fuel-based economy in the next decade. Most of all, I believe we should allow workers to organize and have collective bargaining. So if my brother doesn't run, I may run, but here's the thing. I have to raise $8K between now and March 10th to qualify to have my name on the ballot.
